A team from the Cavendish Dojo in Hull competed in Sports Jutsu and Groundwork against a team from the University. The event was held for 2 hours from 3pm in the old Sports Hall in the University's Sports Centre. Thanks go to the referees, time keepers, scorers and spectators who helped make the event enjoyable. A special thank you to the fighters. The Cavendish dojo won 7 of the 12 fights. Going into the last two fights the score was 6 to 4 for Cavendish, Chris won his fight, so it was 6-5 before the last fight. Cavendish had borrowed Matt D and LUJJC was using Pat, both Merseyside based fighters. Matt D won meaning Cavendish won 7-5, but as he's ex LUJJC we're calling it a draw locally. (Hull are calling it a victory for them). The results were: Groundwork (LUJJC fighters named first) Sean was defeated by Lee Al was defeated by Chard Dave S was defeated by Hugo Dave C was defeated by Ali Matt S defeated Mike Chris defeated Neill
Sports Jutsu (LUJJC fighters named first) Steve was defeated by Hugo James was defeated by Ali Dave C defeated Gary Matt S defeated Chard Chris defeated Lee Pat was defeated by Matt D |

Ju Jitsu is one of the oldest martial arts there is. It incorporates many different styles of fighting to make an effective self defence, attack, or competition martial art.
Training Our club has something to offer everyone. The techniques we learn are suitable for all shapes and sizes and for both men and women. You do not have to be super fit to start with as the training builds up gradually.
Competition For those interested in competition, there is the opportunity to participate in inter-club competitions. Competition formats vary but include 'Random Attacks', 'Sports Jutsu', 'Groundwork' and 'Demonstrations'. Travel We have regular trips to clubs in other European countries. In the past few years we have visited Brussels, Prague, Berlin, Riga and Budapest. |
